TMSS was established to improve the well-being of marginalized and oppressed individuals, recognizing the essential need for medical facilities. Unfortunately, access to quality healthcare for the underprivileged has become scarce. In response to this, TMSS founded TMSS Medical College (TMC) in 2008 as part of its commitment to building a robust healthcare service provider.
Despite decades of efforts by numerous NGOs for comprehensive grassroots development, the impact was often considered minimal due to a lack of connections and opportunities. TMSS, being a non-profit organization, follows a philanthropic philosophy. To reinforce its commitment and address challenges, TMSS operates multiple medical technology institutes, a nursing college, medical assistant training schools, community paramedic institutes, an Ayurvedic Unani Medical College & Hospital, and TMSS Medical College—all government-approved.
Education is crucial for human development, and TMSS stands out by focusing on enhancing the quality and standard of education rather than treating it as a business. The organization prioritizes educational sustainability and quality, redirecting funds for educational materials and ensuring satisfaction among students and teachers.
Over the years, TMC has excelled in producing competent healthcare professionals and scientists. It is the largest private institution in Northern Bangladesh dedicated to educating healthcare professionals. The college, with 150 students in MBBS and 50 in BDS courses per session, has maintained its reputation.
Despite initial opposition, TMSS Medical College started operating in 2008, and its Dental Unit commenced in 2012. The college is affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University, and Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) recognizes it. The academic building is well-equipped, and TMSS Medical College & Rafatullah Community Hospital serves as a tertiary care referral facility, offering excellent training in various disciplines.
The hospital provides quality healthcare at a reasonable cost, with dedicated staff working round the clock on a shifting basis. Post-graduate training facilities in multiple disciplines are recognized by Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
