Eastern Medical College & Hospital

Established in 2005, it is a private medical school located in Bangladesh. The primary campus is located next to the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Kabila, Burichang Upazila, Comilla District, Chittagong Division. It has ties to both Chittagong Medical University and Chittagong University. It provides a five-year curriculum leading to the awarding of an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree. Following graduation, all graduates are required to do a one-year internship. The degree is accepted by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.

A hospital with 600 beds is located on the Kabila campus. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare placed a cap of 1,990,000 Bangladeshi takas (US$25,750) in October 2014 on enrollment and tuition fees for private medical institutes. The college offers a five-year program that is accredited by Chittagong University of Chittagong Medical University and leads to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, which is granted by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). Upon completing the final professional exam, an internship lasting a year is mandated.

To get registered with the BMDC and practice medicine, one must complete the internship. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare placed a cap of 1,990,000 Bangladeshi takas (US$25,750) in October 2014 on enrollment and tuition fees for private medical institutes.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS at Eastern Medical College & Hospital:

1. Successful completion of the NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test).
2. Qualification in an examination equivalent to HS/'A' level to be eligible for MBBS admission.
3. The 10th/SSC/'O' level examination should not have been passed before 2017.
4. The Class 12th/HSC/'O' level examination should not have been passed before 2019.
5. A minimum aggregate GPA of 7 is required in the Class 10th/SSC/'O' level or equivalent examination.
6. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required in SSC or any equivalent examination and HSC or equivalent examination.
7. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is needed in biology at the 12th level.

Admission Process at Eastern Medical College & Hospital
