Nizhny Novgorod State Medical University (NNSMA), formerly known as Privolzhsky Research Medical University, is a prominent medical education hub situated in one of the largest regions of the European part of Russia. Originally established as a faculty of Nizhny Novgorod University, the medical faculty was renamed the State Medical Academy in 1994. In 1992, the faculty of overseas admissions was established within NNSMA, and starting with the 1998–1999 academic year, the Academy began training international students in the English language. The university maintains close relationships with a number of international medical scientific research institutes, clinics, and medical centers to assist students in applying their acquired theoretical knowledge in real-world settings and uncovering the subtleties of their future.
