Islami Bank Medical College, Rajshahi

The Islami Bank Medical College Hospital is situated in Bangladesh and commenced operations in 2003. It functions as a private medical college affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University, marking the first private medical college under Rajshahi's jurisdiction. Funded by the Islamic Bank Bangladesh associated with the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh political party, the college and its connected hospital were established in Rajshahi. Positioned in the scenic Nowdapara alongside Airport Road in the northern district of Rajshahi City, the campus faces east and covers ten acres of land.

The college initiated academic activities with the admission of 50 students in the 2003–04 session, following a merit-based selection process guided by government orders sanctioned by the IBMC Academic Council and Governing Body. Islami Bank Medical College Hospital focuses on educating medical students over a five-year period, adhering to the curricula outlined by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) for MBBS and BDS degrees.

Upon completion, the degrees conferred by the University of Dhaka will be recognized by the BMDC through registration. Eligibility Criteria to study MBBS at Islami Bank Medical College Hospital

Medical students must achieve the following basic prerequisites to get MBBS seats at Islami Bank Medical College Hospital:

1. Completion of 12 years of schooling at a public school, board, or college or a recognized upper secondary certificate examination (SSC) is a prerequisite.
2. Successful completion of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as major/compulsory subjects is mandatory.
3. Attainment of a minimum average of 75 percent (equivalent to GPA 4.0) in Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations or their equivalents, with at least 65 percent in each examination separately (equivalent to GPA 3.50).
4. For O-level tests, consideration is given to marks and grades from the top six subjects. In A-level tests, evaluation includes marks and grades from physics, chemistry, and biology.
5. Submission of applications following the specified format available on the college website, accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark sheets, is required.
6. The application must align with all certificates and mark sheets as per the Ministry's guidelines.
7. During the admissions process, successful applicants must present all original academic credentials and mark sheets.

Admission Process

1. Each academic session can admit 85 students based on merits and criteria set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the BM&DC.

2. To apply, get the required form from the college office or specified locations mentioned in the ads and submit it with a non-refundable fee of Tk 1,000/-.

3. Payment should be made through a pay order or bank draft payable to Islami Bank Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi.

4. The total course expenses will be shared on the college notice board after the final result is released. Tuition fees can be paid monthly.
